Board Member

Salt Lake City, UT

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Board Member to join the Board of Directors for a leading organization in the convenience retail and food service industry. This individual will provide strategic guidance and governance, with a particular focus on leveraging their expertise in developing, launching, or scaling food service programs within the convenience retail space.

The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, operational insight, and a proven record of driving profitable growth through integrated food and beverage offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and governance to ensure continued growth and operational excellence.
• Advise executive leadership on food service strategy, product innovation, and customer experience integration within the c-store model.
• Offer insights on brand positioning, supply chain optimization, menu design, and operational execution related to food programs.
• Leverage relationships and industry networks to support partnerships, talent recruitment, and best-practice sharing.
• Actively participate in quarterly board meetings and serve on committees as needed.
• Evaluate business opportunities, capital investments, and long-term strategic plans.
• Uphold the organization’s mission, values, and governance standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of executive or senior management experience in the convenience retail, quick-service restaurant (QSR), or food service industry.
• Proven success in designing and implementing profitable food service or made-to-order programs within a c-store or fuel retail environment.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and consumer behavior.
• Experience serving on corporate or advisory boards preferred, but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to provide high-level strategic guidance while balancing operational realities.
• Integrity, independence, and commitment to fiduciary responsibilities.

Ideal Background

• Senior leadership roles with convenience store organizations, or similar retail/food service hybrids.
• Experience leading cross-functional food program launches or store format transformations.
• Background in supply chain, brand management, or culinary innovation within retail environments.

Commitment

• Approximately four board meetings per year, plus committee participation and ad-hoc consultation with management.
• Occasional travel to corporate headquarters and select store locations as needed.

Compensation

A competitive board retainer and meeting fees, approximately $1,500 per month , commensurate with experience and industry standards.
