Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing Technology team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the design, deployment, and ongoing support of modern cloud-based environments. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure and brings hands-on experience with Greenfield initiatives, Terraform-driven infrastructure, and cloud networking solutions.

Pay Transparency: $70-75/hr W2

Duration: 3-4 months

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and support internal and externally facing environments utilizing modern cloud technologies, including AWS and Azure.
• Support the operation and upkeep of network hardware, firewalls, and cloud networking components.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for systems, processes, and infrastructure managed through Terraform.
• Proactively manage IT infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Architect and implement enterprise monitoring, configuration management, and reporting solutions.
• Establish and document standards, best practices, and support procedures for AWS and Azure environments.
• Provide limited after-hours support for infrastructure incidents and scheduled maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate asset inventories and configuration records.
• Participate in the evaluation, selection, and negotiation of hardware, software, and platform vendors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in systems administration with a strong emphasis on cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Greenfield cloud implementations and infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.
• Advanced experience administering Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and related cloud services.
• Strong background in identity and access management, preferably with Azure Entra ID.
• Advanced networking knowledge, including cloud networking and Meraki environments.
• Experience integrating and managing cloud-based SaaS applications.
• Deep familiarity with Azure and AWS PaaS and SaaS offerings.
• Automation and scripting experience using tools such as PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript.
• Proficiency with command-line tools including Windows/Azure PowerShell, CMD, Linux shell, and Azure Cloud Shell.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments, as well as desktop operating systems (Windows and macOS).
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V and VMware.
• Advanced understanding of Exchange Online and enterprise email systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis in complex environments.
• Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills across all organizational levels.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and adapt to feedback and guidance.
• Willingness to work extended hours when business needs require.
