Senior Cloud Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients, is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the design, automation, and security of large-scale AWS networking environments. This role blends hands-on cloud engineering with strategic influence — ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of infrastructure, automation, and network architecture.

Experience of the Right Candidate:

• 5+ years of experience in cloud or network engineering, with deep, hands-on AWS networking expertise.
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation).
• Hands-on background managing multi-account and multi-region AWS architectures.
• Experience with Kubernetes or container networking.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud connectivity between on-prem and cloud environments.
• Scripting ability in Python or similar languages.

Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:

• Architect and scale secure AWS networking, including VPCs, Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, VPN, Cloud WAN, Route53, ACM, and Private CAs.
• Automate network provisioning and configuration through Terraform, AWS CDK, or other IaC frameworks.
• Define and enforce network segmentation, routing, and DNS best practices across multi-account cloud environments.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis for complex network and connectivity issues.
• Manage DNS, IP address planning, and integration between AWS and on-premises networks.
• Develop and apply network security policies using Security Groups, Network ACLs, and AWS WAF.
