What We're Looking For:

The Communications Specialist will be instrumental in developing and executing SurvivorRx’s communication strategy. In this role, you’ll build and manage influencer relationships, identify partnership opportunities to elevate brand awareness, collaborate with survivors and subject-matter experts on blog content, and lead outreach and event initiatives that reflect our mission. The ideal candidate is a strategic, empathetic communicator with a passion for storytelling, community-building, and meaningful engagement. This position reports to the Marketing Specialist and Chief of Marketing. This individual must already be located in the Jacksonville, FL area.

Role responsibilities:

Influencer Program

• Build our influencer program from the ground up by discovering, connecting with, and managing influencers, ambassadors, and content creators, ensuring alignment with SurvivorRx’s mission and values.

Blog

• Coordinate and manage blog content by working closely with our authors, including survivors, caregivers, and medical professionals such as naturopaths, nurses, and health coaches.
• Support blog operations through keyword research, topic planning, article editing, calendar planning, and content optimization while using SEO best practices.

Event Planning & Execution

• Plan our event calendar and identify local and national event opportunities to increase SurvivorRx brand awareness.
• Support and expand our TLC (Tiny Loving Communities) program by identifying grassroots, volunteer-driven organizations that make a direct impact on the lives of cancer survivors. From there, we highlight one selected TLC each month to provide a donation toward their work, spotlight them on our website for increased awareness, and collaborate on an in-person engagement opportunity.
• Lead outreach to event organizers to gather key details, coordinate participation, manage logistics, and ensure clear communication before, during, and after each event.

Brand Voice & Messaging Consistency

• Support the development of SurvivorRx’s voice alongside our Marketing Specialist to ensure consistency across all communication platforms.

Who We're Looking For:

Professional qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in communications, PR, influencer marketing, or a related field.
• Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with a sharp eye for detail and tone.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with experience juggling multiple projects and deadlines.
• Collaborative and cross-functional, with experience working closely with business and brand partners.
• Proficiency in SEO and keyword strategy, and experience with SEMrush is a plus.
• Experience managing influencer relationships and user-generated content is a plus.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and work in a start-up, fast pace, business environment.

Preferred but not required:

• Familiarity with natural healing modalities, including the use of naturopathic ingredients and integrative wellness approaches.
• Experience in crafting compelling, evidence-based content such as medical blogs, health articles, and patient education materials.
• Adept at referencing peer-reviewed research and clinical sources to support written content with accuracy and credibility.

Our team is primarily based in Jacksonville, FL, where we work remotely except for Mondays where we aim to be together in person. While we embrace flexibility, we also enjoy coming together for team-building events.
