Job Description

Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team within an inpatient setting, serving individuals experiencing substance-use and/or co-occurring disorders.

As the DON, you will be responsible for daily nursing operations, ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence, patient care and regulatory compliance, and fostering the professional growth of RNs and LPNs.

Position Details:

• Reports to: Executive Director
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm; flexibility required.
• Location: Gulf Breeze, FL (On-site)

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support nurses to foster a positive, goal-driven work environment.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll.
• Collaborate with providers to deliver medically sound care, including health assessments and patient education.
• Oversee performance, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead orientations, trainings, and evaluations .
• Develop and enforce nursing policies that meet DEA, licensure, and regulatory requirements.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless, integrated care.
• Monitor medication administration.
• Participate in audits, review nursing documentation, and uphold Joint Commission and healthcare standards.
• Provide ongoing training and leadership development to advance nursing staff skills and career growth .
• Enforce infection control, safety protocols, and risk mitigation practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a nursing management role.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral and/or mental healthcare settings.
• Active RN license to practice nursing in the State of Florida
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing school; BSN or MSN, preferred.
• Proven expertise in healthcare administration, team leadership, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and patient care standards.
• Experience in multi-department coordination.
