Job Description

Birdi Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead and manage the installation of electrical and low voltage systems across critical infrastructure and transportation projects. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing conduit installation, wire pulling, system integration, field personnel coordination, and ensuring all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant codes and standards. The ideal candidate brings a strong hands-on background in electrical and low voltage systems, proven field supervision experience, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead field crews performing electrical and low voltage installations.
• Plan and execute conduit runs (EMT, RMC, PVC, etc.) and manage wire pulling for power and low voltage systems.
• Oversee installation, testing, and troubleshooting of:
• Access control and security systems
• Fire alarm systems
• CCTV surveillance and intercoms
• Data and structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics)
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, and local electrical codes and standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure proper system integration.
• Perform and document quality control inspections, system testing, and certifications.
• Maintain accurate project records including daily logs, material tracking, and inspection reports.
• Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices on best practices and safety.
• Manage material procurement, tool usage, and equipment allocation for optimal field performance.
• Promote and uphold Birdi Systems, Inc.'s standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in electrical construction with a specialization in low voltage systems.
• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role (Superintendent, Foreman, or Lead Technician).
• Extensive knowledge of conduit bending, installation, and wire pulling practices.
• Strong hands-on experience with installation and commissioning of low voltage systems.
• Deep understanding of NEC, NFPA codes, and applicable industry standards.
• Proficient with testing, diagnostic, and certification tools for electrical and low voltage systems.
• Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician License (preferred, depending on location).
• Industry certifications such as NICET, BICSI, or manufacturer-specific credentials (preferred).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working on aviation, transit, or other critical infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of integrated security systems, fire alarm, and access control technologies.
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS), automation, and SCADA integration.
• Experience using field reporting tools and construction project management platforms.
