POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Production Manager, this position is responsible for directing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the production departments with the Crookston facility. This position ensures both long- and short-term goals are achieved through the implementation and completion of both departmental and corporate goals.
- Key Responsibilities: Monitors the capacity of the production departments to ensure capacity both in equipment and resources to meet requirements as set out by the Master Schedule.
- Ensures operational KPI's and OPEX are established, and objectives are met.
- Reports on departmental objectives and issues in Daily Operational Meetings.
- Monitors and promotes the Health and Safety programs and takes an active role in the elimination of hazardous conditions in developing a safer working environment.
- Maintains operational budgets for each production department, including obtaining and reviewing budget results with budget owners monthly, identifying deviations and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
- Ensures the production areas are following all safety, health, and environment requirements.
- Coordinates operating departments to ensure a continual follow of product to meet both internal and external requirements.
- Promotes Labor/Management relations through the settlement of issues and grievances.
- Participates and promotes in Lean manufacturing activities.
- Reports on departmental objectives and issues in Daily Operational Meetings.
Working Conditions:
This position operates in a manufacturing environment where exposure to various machinery and high-voltage systems is present. Compliance with safety standards is required at all times.Requirements
- Qualifications: Post-secondary education in a related discipline in operations management or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years' previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor others and work well under pressure.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and knowledge of Oracle would be an asset.
- Experienced with Lean manufacturing considered an asset.
- Prior experience working with a unionized workforce considered an asset.
