Position Overview:

Arena has partnered with a rapidly growing GC who is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Underground Utility Estimator to join their team. This role is pivotal in establishing and growing their underground utility practice, leveraging the candidate's industry expertise, relationships, and proven track record in estimating and securing high-value projects.

The Senior Estimator will work closely with the Business Development team to drive new opportunities, develop accurate and competitive bids, and cultivate relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry contacts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for underground utility projects, including water, sewer, and storm drain systems.
• Collaborate with the Business Development and Take-off teams to identify and pursue new project opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients within the underground construction industry.
• Conduct pre-bid site visits to evaluate project conditions and scope requirements.
• Manage the bid process from start to finish, including bid follow-ups and tracking project status on the CRM platform.
• Establish KPIs for sales volume and track performance metrics to ensure alignment with company goals.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior estimators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of proven success in underground utility estimating, with a strong sales volume track record.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in estimating software such as B2W Estimate or similar platforms.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of underground utilities, site grading, and excavation processes.
• Industry Relationships: Established network of contacts within the underground construction industry.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
• Teamwork: Collaborative and adaptable, with a willingness to mentor and lead team members.
• Location: Must reside in Southern California within a reasonable commuting distance to Murrieta, CA.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary: Competitive, starting at 150k-200k plus bonus.
