Job Description

Our client, a computer networking products organization, is in need of a full-time Fortinet Engineer . Their ideal candidate will be a Firewall Engineer specializing in Fortinet. The pay for this role is around $45/hr based off of experience. This position is 100% REMOTE. Initial contract duration of 6 months with potential for extension.


Our client is seeking a skilled Firewall Engineer specializing in Fortinet to join their team. This role involves managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing Fortinet security environments to ensure seamless operations and security compliance.



Fortinet Engineer Responsibilities:

• Perform updates, modifications, and policy changes on Fortinet firewalls
• Work closely with end users and manage support tickets to troubleshoot and implement changes related to FortiGate and FortiManager
• Operate daily within a Fortinet environment, including FortiGates, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer
• Apply strong troubleshooting skills to resolve firewall-related issues efficiently
• Demonstrate critical thinking by providing recommendations on security configurations, such as selecting secure vs. insecure ports
• Submit daily and/or weekly progress reports on completed and in-progress work
• Maintain thorough documentation of change management processes, configuration modifications, and troubleshooting steps
• Communicate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders

Fortinet Engineer Requirements:

• NSE 4 certification or 5+ years of recent, hands-on Fortinet experience, specifically with FortiGate and FortiManager
• Minimum of 3 years of direct Fortinet firewall experience
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively
• Ability to follow established processes and manage work queues efficiently

• Experience with FortiAnalyzer, FortiProxy, and FortiClient (VPN) is a plus
