We're on a mission to reinvent insurance claims through AI. As a Founding Backend Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in designing the systems that power our intelligent platform from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to join an early-stage team, own critical technical decisions, and shape the future of Insurtech.

What You’ll Do

• Build and own the core backend and database systems for a next-gen AI insurance claims product.
• Design scalable architecture capable of handling rapid, high-volume growth.
• Develop and maintain clean, efficient APIs and services using Python, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL.
• Optimize performance and reliability across a modern cloud stack (Docker, AWS, GCP).
• Collaborate closely with the founding team to define engineering best practices, stack choices, and long-term tech vision.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of backend development experience using Python, Go, or Node.js.
• Startup-savvy : At least one year in a high-growth, early-stage startup (under 100 people).
• Scalability expertise : You’ve scaled systems 100x and understand what breaks and what doesn’t.
• Tech stack fluency : PostgreSQL, Docker, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and vector databases.
• API craftsmanship : You’ve built and maintained production REST and GraphQL APIs.
• AI readiness : You’re familiar with LLMs, including function calling, limitations, and making them production-ready.
• Ownership mindset : You move fast, solve problems proactively, and ship solid code independently.

Bonus Points For

• Background in insurance, fintech, or AI-powered SaaS products.
• Experience leading technical teams or making hiring decisions.
• Hands-on with distributed systems or machine learning infrastructure.
