Position Title: Aftermarket Engineer

Reports To: Managing Director

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Overview:

KSB is a leading $2 billion global pump manufacturer ( and has a need for an engineer at the Service Center located in Grand Rapids, MI. The office is part of the global KSB SupremeServ team focusing on repair and improving pump reliability in the process industries, predominately the steel, municipal and energy sectors. The facility in Grand Rapids includes a full machine shop for reverse engineering and manufacturing of centrifugal pump components and assembly.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Shop Technicians to review dis-assembly and inspection findings and determine cause of failure/wear of pump equipment to develop a scope for the repair requirements

• Work with Purchasing and Shop to determine costing and price-out repairs, incorporating upgrades and improvements where necessary

• Develop scope quotation to include documentation of as-found attributes, pictures, scope of repair with price and lead times; work with Sales team to finalize quotations

• Enter work scope into ERP system and create shop traveler for repair procedures

• Manage critical jobs as they proceed through the shop

• Participate in scheduling meetings

Qualifications:

• Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering degree preferred

• Experience in Job Shop manufacturing environment

• Knowledge of machining processes and tools

• Experience in precision component measurement and understanding of fits and clearances

• Knowledge of centrifugal pumps design and applications

• Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Experience with manufacturing, business, or maintenance ERP system

• Ability to verbally communicate information and ideas effectively one-on-one and in occasional group presentations; must be able to establish a friendly, customer service rapport on the phone.

• Ability to communicate information and convey ideas so others understand; writing must be grammatically correct and without spelling errors.

• Produce work at a fast rate and with high accuracy, and demonstrates accountability if mistakes occur.

• Aptitude for effectively prioritizing tasks to manage multiple projects simultaneously
