Network Engineer

Hybrid: Charlotte, NC

Long Term Contract

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of complex enterprise data network solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in TCP/IP, routing, switching, and Cisco network infrastructure. This position plays a vital role in maintaining and evolving a robust and cost-effective network that meets the growing demands of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, test, implement, and continuously improve enterprise network solutions.
• Configure Cisco IOS software and integrate new network hardware (routers, switches) into the existing infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date network diagrams, documentation, and configurations for all network devices.
• Prepare detailed engineering job packages including parts lists, drawings, network diagrams, and configurations.
• Ensure designs are cost-effective while delivering high-performance and reliable services to business users.
• Develop and submit cost estimates for network installations and upgrades as needed.
• Stay current with emerging networking technologies and tools.
• Procure, activate, and troubleshoot both private and public WAN circuits.
• Collaborate across IT teams to deliver end-to-end network solutions that meet business requirements.

Qualifications:

• 5–7 years of experience in Information Technology, with at least 5 years of experience in the design and support of Cisco network solutions.
• Strong understanding of communication technologies and networking fundamentals.
• Proficiency in TCP/IP, Cisco IOS, and enterprise-level routing and switching.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience coordinating projects across multiple departments and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cisco certifications: CCNA, CCDA desired; CCNP, CCDP, or CCIE preferred.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Cisco routers, switches, ACS, wireless controllers, access points, and VPN concentrators
• Routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, EIGRP
• Technologies including Layer 3 Switching, GRE, HSRP, GLBP, IPSEC, SSL, AAA, SNMP
• Familiarity with designing secure and scalable networks within a large enterprise environment.
