Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced RN Nurse Manager to lead the Med/Surg/Telemetry unit at a high-volume acute care hospital. This leadership role is responsible for clinical excellence, staff performance, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency within a fast-paced inpatient environment.
The hospital performs approximately 4,000 surgeries annually and averages 4,000 Emergency Department visits per month , offering a dynamic and impactful leadership setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Med/Surg/Telemetry unit
- Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care aligned with hospital standards
- Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff, including charge nurses
- Support staffing, scheduling, competency development, and performance management
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and hospital leadership
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards
- Monitor patient outcomes, throughput, and quality metrics
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the department
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required)
- Master’s degree in a related field (preferred)
Licensure & Certifications (Required)
- Active California RN license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Basic EKG/Telemetry interpretation OR completion of a Basic EKG course within 6 months of hire
Experience Requirements
- 2+ years of recent Med/Surg and/or Telemetry department-specific experience
- Prior charge nurse or supervisory experience strongly preferred
