Job Title: Pharmacy Tech II

Location: San Antonio TX 78238

Duration: 03 Months

Pay rate: $15.39/hr

Additional Notes:

Remote Flexibility: After 8 weeks, remote work may be considered based on performance and manager approval.

Wk 1: M-F 8-4:30pm, Wk 2-8: M-Th 9-5:30pm and Fri 8a – 4:30pm, CST while onsite; Wk 9 – 12: M-F 9a

Education:

• Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.

Certification:

• Completion of Pharmacy Tech training program.

Job Description:

• This position is responsible for researching and screening orders, accurately and efficiently reading, interpreting, and entering prescriptions into the computer system in a timely fashion, and/ or thinking through and solving escalated prescription issues.
• Technicians will direct questionable prescriptions to the prescriber for clarification, enter incomplete prescription information once clarification has been obtained, and complete appropriate described patient letter.
• Through your skills and knowledge, you will offer solutions needed to help simplify the customer health care experience. Areas of focus for Pharmacy Technicians may be entering patient and prescription information into our system, and faxing physicians for prescription clarification, substitutions, and formulary changes. To help support development and maximize workflow, you will be asked to perform other pharmacy functions as required.

State Board Registration:

Include your TX State Board of Pharmacy registration number.

Completion of Pharmacy Tech training program.

• Are you comfortable reading and interpreting prescription terminology and medication names
• Can you type rapidly while maintaining 100% accuracy
• Are you able to consistently meet production and quality standards set by a management team
• Can you recognize and identify commonly used generic drugs and their routes of administration
• Do you have general knowledge of commonly used generic drugs?
• Are you able to understand Latin symbols commonly used in prescriptions and write routine correspondence
• Are you proficient in basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and able to calculate dosages and days-supply prescriptions
• Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and are you flexible with changing priorities

Work Environment Expectations:

While working from home, contractor must work in a private office or enclosed space with the door shut to ensure focus and confidentiality - contractor must have a distraction-free home office setup and demonstrate the ability to work independently and effectively.

• Rapid keyboarding skills while maintaining 100% accuracy.
• Able to meet specified production and quality standards as defined by the management team.
• Able to recognize and identify commonly used generic drugs and the route of administration of these drugs.
• General knowledge of commonly used generic drugs.
• Able to understand and interpret Latin symbols commonly used on prescriptions medications and able write routine correspondence.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This includes the ability to calculate dosages and days-supply prescriptions.
• Must be flexible and enjoy working in a fast pace, team-oriented environment.
