Job Title: Senior Piping Designer

Location: Houston, Texas, United States.

Employment Type: Contract (Without Sponsorship and not open for C2C)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Piping Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead a drafting team responsible for preparing layouts and designs of complex piping systems using advanced modeling software. You may also be called upon to serve as a Project Lead , Drafting Checker , or Project Coordinator as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Design

• Prepare complete design packages, including preliminary, conceptual, and construction deliverables
• Create detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts and working drawings
• Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate preliminary designs
• Assemble reference drawings and information from various sources
• Develop equipment and piping layouts from PFDs and P&IDs
• Review and verify sketches and drawings for accuracy and constructability
• Interface with stress and pipe support engineers, construction teams, and suppliers
• Generate parts lists, procurement lists, BOMs, and specifications
• Revise documentation in line with engineering changes

Drafting

• Produce 2D detail drawings and complete drawing packages (IFA, IFB, IFC, IDC, As-Built)
• Develop and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for gas processing skids
• Configure smart 3D models and fabrication drawings (Isometrics, P&IDs, GA, I&E drawings)
• Design and specify technical components and systems using CAD software

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical drafting, layouts, assemblies, and skid units
• Proficiency in PDMS (AVEVA E3D) , AutoCAD , and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with 2D/3D drafting standards, dynamic blocks, xrefs, layering, and plot styles
• Competence in developing Site Plans, Equipment Plans, Piping Plans, Isometrics, and 3D Models
• Ability to manage full-cycle piping projects independently
• Knowledge of drafting/design standards and ability to apply both company and client standards
• Strong time management and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
