A leading construction firm located in Chicago, IL is seeking a detailed Project Accountant to join their team. The Project Accountant will support the team with payments, budgets and reviewing contracts. This is a great opportunity for someone who works well in a team environment. This role offers a competitive salary of $70k-80k/yr commensurate with experience, and benefits which include health insurance, PTO, and a 401(k) plan.

Responsibilities of the Project Accountant:

• Coordinate and communicate with the project team about agreements and contracts
• Oversee project financial management, including job cost tracking, analysis, and reporting using Sage 100 and CMiC
• Manage project-related records, approvals, and documentation, including contracts and change orders
• Prepare and submit G702/G703 AIA Documents and other project financial reports
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on project finances, including construction draws and billing
• Handle project accounting tasks such as variance analysis, account maintenance, and tax reporting
• Perform other financial and administrative duties as needed

Requirements of the Project Accountant:

• 1-2 years of project accounting experience in construction required
• General contractor experience required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication skills and highly responsive
• Organized with a sharp eye for detail
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines at once
