Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – Multiple Specialties

Location: Charleston, SC (Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System)

Employment Type: Staff Augmentation / Contract

We are hiring experienced Registered Nurses to support the care of U.S. Veterans in Charleston, SC.

We are seeking candidates for the following units:

1. Operating Room (OR) RN

• Schedule: Day shift only (options: 0700–1530, 0700–1730, or 0700–1930).
• Work Week: Monday–Friday; No weekends or holidays required.
• Focus: Perioperative care within the surgical suite and sterile field maintenance.

2. Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) RN

• Schedule: 12.5-hour shifts (Day: 0730–2000 | Night: 1930–0800).
• Work Week: Includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Focus: Acute care for Veterans with diverse medical and surgical needs.

3. Inpatient Psychiatric RN

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day: 0730–2000 | Night: 1930–0800).
• Work Week: Includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Focus: Holistic care in acute psychiatric units, including detox, withdrawal management, and crisis de-escalation.

4. Chemotherapy / Infusion RN

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts (start times range from 0730 to 0830).
• Work Week: Weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Focus: Administering immunotherapy and chemotherapy agents per Oncology Nursing Society guidelines.

Core Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of current experience in the specific specialty applied for.
• Licensure: Active, full, and unrestricted RN license in any U.S. State or Territory.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ACEN, CCNE, or ANCC).
• Certifications: Current BLS (all roles); ACLS required for critical care or infusion settings.
• Systems: Proficiency in electronic health records (CPRS and VistA experience preferred).
• Residency: This is a local-only contract (no travel/per diem packages).
