Site Safety Manager – Homer City, PA

Lunova Group is partnering with our local construction client to recruit a Site Safety Manager for their team on a major project in Homer City, PA. They are a General Contractor with a 25-year track record in the Pittsburgh construction market and beyond, known for delivering high-quality commercial and industrial work.

This role will support one of their most significant upcoming industrial projects and will be onsite full‑time in Homer City, PA from project start through completion, with continued full‑time employment based out of Bridgeville, PA afterward.

About the Role

As the Site Safety Manager, you will serve as the full‑time safety leader for the project, working alongside leadership, subcontractors, and inspectors to ensure a safe, compliant, and highly organized jobsite. You’ll build structure where needed, lead all field‑level safety processes, and act as the primary point of contact for safety planning, reporting, training, and enforcement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all site safety operations, serving as the dedicated safety authority on the project.
• Create and maintain structured safety processes, documentation, and reporting.
• Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings, audits, inspections, and JHA/pre‑task planning.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, site requirements, and project‑specific protocols.
• Oversee LOTO coordination, hot work permitting, confined space oversight, SWPPP, and other required controls.
• Develop and maintain site logistics plans related to safety.
• Partner with the Superintendent/Construction Manager, and Project Manager to reinforce safety expectations.
• Interface with subcontractors, inspectors, AHJs, and client representatives as the on‑site safety lead.
• Lead inspection readiness, including third‑party testing coordination and special inspections.
• Maintain thorough documentation: daily safety reports, incident logs, corrective actions, and trending analysis.

Requirements

• 5+ years of dedicated construction safety management experience.
• Strong background in industrial or commercial construction environments.
• OSHA 510, CHST certification or OSHA 40 experience.
• Demonstrated experience running safety for large, complex projects with formal reporting requirements.
• Strong understanding of JHA/pre‑task planning, LOTO procedures, crane operations/signaling, and hazard mitigation.
• Ability to build structured safety plans, emergency response plans, and site logistics related to safety.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage field teams, enforce accountability, and build trust.
• Independent, proactive working style with the confidence to lead safety autonomously.
• Ability to work on‑site full‑time in Homer City, PA throughout the project duration, then transition to Bridgeville.
