Must Haves:
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM discipline or related field or military operations and maintenance experience with radar, communications, electro-optics, networks and information technology -based sensors/systems
Expert knowledge on MS Office Products.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience with structured authoring applications, such as: MadCap, FrameMaker, or Arbortext.
Possess and maintain Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
Plus:
Knowledge of standard content management strategies
Knowledge of Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE 100)
Knowledge of standards – XML, SGML, HTML, S1000 and DITA – for structured Content
Possess and maintain DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
Day to Day:
A client of Insight Global is looking for a Secret Cleared Technical Writer to join their team. The Technical Writer creates, revises, and edits technical documents, ensuring clear communication of technical information to diverse audiences. Responsibilities include preparing illustrative materials, conducting quality reviews, and publishing in various formats (page-based, electronic, interactive, HTML, XML, SGML). The role involves collaborating with task leads, writers, engineers, and instructors to develop sensor/system technical manuals, performing desktop publishing tasks, and researching information to develop manual outlines according to specifications and standards. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Compensation: $32/hr. -- 35/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
