Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the financial support and analysis for the NCL Brand President and brand leadership team. Participate in the accumulation, creation and review of operating department budgets/forecasts, review and assess financial results, analyze trends and develop reporting and analysis to service the overall financial health of the Brand. Current role’s focus is on the Advertisement and Promotions annual budget of more than $300 million.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the monthly forecasting and annual financial planning for the Advertisement & Promotion areas under the Norwegian Brand, managing a budget exceeding $300 million.
  • Lead a team in the enhancement and development of new reporting in order to provide financial support and analysis on a continuous basis.
  • Work closely with the accounting department during the monthly closing process in order to perform variance analysis reviews as well as provide support in the accruals related to the operating departments under the Brand President.
  • Manage the monthly accrual process for marketing across domestic and international cost centers.
  • Assist leadership in streamlining reporting processes by implementing automated tools and standardized KPIs.
  • Apply best practices across the brands to enhance overall performance of the Company as well as provide insights into concepts that may enhance the performance and/or efficiencies of other departments.
  • Produce, manage and monitor key financial reporting metrics in order to promote brand health and raise awareness to unusual trends or results.
  • Provide analytical insights into results and consult with key executive leadership in providing directional guidance to facilitate decision making.
  • Prioritize projects and analysis and ensure proper resources are allocated and projects are completed in a timely manner.
  • Perform ad hoc variance analysis and reporting.
  • Perform other job related functions as assigned.

DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree

FIELD(S) OF STUDY:

Finance and/or Accounting. Master’s degree and/or Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) license preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years progressive finance and/or accounting, cruise industry, preferred. Experience working in public accounting, preferred.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

  • Position requires a strong understanding and application of finance principles and analysis as well as a fundamental level of understanding of GAAP.
  • In addition, the candidate must possess the ability to transition into business-level discussions and decision-making as part of their core competencies.
  • The incumbent should be able to effectively and concisely communicate with varying levels of management via both oral and written mediums, including key executive leadership.
  • Strong leadership skills in order to motivate and drive team to keep projects on pace.
  • The senior manager should be able to manage multiple projects at any given point, facilitate and lead meetings and solve problems while dealing with multiple variables.
  • Strong decision-making skills are a must as well as the ability to quickly isolate potential issues based upon the fact pattern presented.
  • The incumbent should demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills when functioning in their daily capacity.
  • Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office is preferred as well as background system knowledge of Hyperion and PeopleSoft Financials.
