Title: Contract Research Scientist II / Senior Scientist, Biologics Research

Position Summary:

Seeking an experienced biologist, virologist, or bioengineer to lead discovery and engineering efforts in next-generation gene therapies for rare diseases. This role involves working within a cross-disciplinary team and conducting wet lab experiments to advance viral vector programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead viral vector engineering projects and high-throughput molecular/cellular screening to identify novel capsids.
• Perform transfection, transduction, viral titering, and sequencing-based characterization of viral genomes.
• Apply molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, cloning, PCR/qPCR/ddPCR, and NGS library preparation.
• Conduct mammalian and primary cell culture, and support in vivo studies.
• Analyze data, document protocols, and present findings to project teams.
• Contribute to lab operations and mentor junior scientists.

Qualifications:

• PhD in molecular biology, virology, immunology, bioengineering, or related field with 2–6 years of industry experience, or MS with 8+ years.
• Hands-on experience with viral vectors (AAV preferred), viral vector engineering, and molecular biology workflows.
• Proficiency with mammalian cell culture, NGS technologies, and genome titering methods (qPCR/ddPCR).
• Experience in in vivo studies, protein characterization, or functional cell-based assays (flow cytometry, ELISpot, ELISA) is preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with ability to manage multiple projects.
