ASAP is hiring on behalf of one of our clients for a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to join their Tennessee team. This individual will serve as both a project manager and technical leader on municipal drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. The role offers the opportunity to grow into ownership within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver planning, design, construction administration, and start-up services for water and wastewater treatment utilities.
• Develop project deliverables including engineering calculations, equipment sizing/selection, technical specifications, reports, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Provide oversight to ensure design methods meet relevant standards and project requirements.
• Manage projects to achieve high-quality, on-time, and on-budget outcomes with strong client satisfaction.
• Coordinate staffing and workload with leadership throughout project development.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of technical documents and ensure accuracy of data and calculations.
• Serve as a direct point of contact with clients; develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Support business development and proposal preparation; bringing existing client relationships is highly valued.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster team collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in municipal or industrial water/wastewater systems.
• PE registration in Tennessee (preferably also Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina).
• Substantial technical background in water and wastewater treatment plant design (both treatment facilities and distribution/collection systems).
• Local candidate or willingness to relocate to Nashville, TN (relocation assistance available for the right candidate).
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Active engagement in professional/industry organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering.
• 20+ years of experience with water/wastewater projects.
• Experience with alternative project delivery methods.
• Existing client relationships in Tennessee or surrounding states.
