Job Description
Position Summary:
The Technical Assistant/Transport Aide is a member of the nursing care team responsible for administering direct patient care and performing any other duties deemed necessary to ensure quality patient care, under the direction and supervision of the Professional Nurse.
Education, License & Cert:
High School Graduate.
Experience: No experience needed.
Essential Functions:
1. Transports patients to and from departments in the hospital ensuring all customers receive high quality service while maintaining their privacy.
2. Demonstrates use of correct body mechanics to prevent injuries.
3. Transfers patients to and from wheelchair, stretcher, or bed, as directed.
4. Help restrain unruly patients.
5. Provide sitter coverage for all inpatient units.
6. Responds promptly to calls.
7. Responds to all stat situations ie. Medical alerts including Code Blue, STEMI Alert, Stoke Alert, Rapid Response etc.
8. Transports patients to morgue and assist with placing in cooler along with releasing the body to the funeral home.
9. Monitor’s wheelchair placement in all departments.
10. Assists with appropriate storage and allocation of oxygen tanks.
11. Follow universal precautions in all work situations.
12. Follows all hospital policies and procedures.
13. Provide coverage to all nursing departments as requested by the nursing supervisor.

1. Participates and actively supports performance Improvement activities.

Pay rate ranges from $17.00 - $23.61 per hour.
