Job Description

Training Lead – In Vivo Operations

We are hiring a Training Lead to join the In Vivo Operations team at a leading preclinical research organization. This individual will take ownership of GLP-compliant training programs and play a critical role in onboarding and developing technical staff across Research Associate roles. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in in vivo procedures who enjoys teaching, coaching, and process improvement.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement training procedures and qualification standards aligned with GLP and regulatory guidelines
  • Deliver classroom and hands-on training to new hires every three weeks across technical procedures and study protocols
  • Identify and support qualified training staff, ensuring consistent and effective training delivery
  • Collaborate with management to schedule and manage department-wide training and cross-training efforts
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all training activities and ensure training records are compliant and audit-ready
  • Monitor training progress, track milestones, and communicate schedules with department stakeholders
  • Support training-related quality control and respond to QA audits with corrective action implementation
  • Provide technical mentorship in IV administration, injections, euthanasia, and other regulated in vivo procedures
  • Contribute to process standardization and cross-functional improvement initiatives

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science field or equivalent experience in a lab setting
  • At least 3 years of hands-on in vivo research experience in a regulated (GLP) environment
  • At least 1 year of experience leading or delivering training in a research setting
  • Experience working with large animals required; NHP experience is a plus but not required
  • Strong technical skills including IV administration, injections, and euthanasia
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for training and mentoring others
  • Professional certifications (e.g., AALAS, ASCP) are preferred

Compensation:

  • Training Specialist (RA III equivalent): $21.73 – $27.00/hr
  • Training Lead (above RA III): $26.25 – $32.00/hr

Local candidates preferred, but relocation support is available for the right person. This is a full-time opportunity with options for contract-to-hire (local candidates) or direct hire (relocation support available).
