Position Overview:

The Utility Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and routine inspections of boilers, chillers, and RO water unit. The ideal candidate should know how to install and maintain company equipment. The technician will also be overseeing the buildings and grounds’ function, and will be managing several aspects of basic maintenance repairs of both areas. This technician will need to understand the identification of basic plumbing and electrical parts and possess the ability to assemble and wire those parts. The candidate should have strong prioritization and troubleshooting skills, with the potential and expectation to grow into management. The ability to work efficiently and safely are very important to this job. The technician needs to be able to work well under pressure, and must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written). The Candidate should be dependable, learn fast, and possess basic computer skills (Windows, Office, Outlook & Internet).

Job Summary:

The Utility Technician is responsible monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The technician will also support the wastewater line, perform in-house testing, and maintain records.

Key Responsibilities:

Boiler Room Operations:

• Operate and maintain boiler systems for efficient steam generation.
• Monitor temperature, pressure, and water levels, making necessary adjustments.
• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on boilers and associated equipment.
• Maintain detailed records of operations, maintenance, and safety checks.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Create job planning and material lists and monitor product inventory/procurement of parts.
• Assist in wastewater-related systems improvement and preventive maintenance projects.
• Train and assist in the assessment of junior employees.
• Inspect the wash line and have it ready for operation.
• Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and support other departments if needed.
• Basic Maintenance, repairs, building improvement projects, etc. as needed.

• Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.
• Understanding of maintenance in a manufacturing facility.
• Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Competence in basic mathematics, chemistry, and biology.

• Technical and analytical skills.
• Ability to lift 60 to 70 lbs and stand, lift, and bend for 8 to 12-hour shifts.
