Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage field operations for civil construction projects from start to finish.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, equipment, and materials to ensure timely and quality execution.
• Oversee mass earthwork, grading, trenching, and utility installations.
• Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and progress, reporting regularly to project managers.
• Conduct daily site inspections and safety meetings.
• Resolve field issues and proactively manage risks and delays.
• Collaborate with engineers, clients, and inspectors to ensure project success.
• Maintain accurate documentation including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.

Qualifications:

• 5–10 years of experience as a Civil Superintendent in large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in mass earthwork, grading, utilities, and civil site development.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Experience with commercial, industrial, and public sector projects (Charleston Airport experience is a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• OSHA certification and strong safety record.
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between Columbia and Charleston.
