Underground Equipment Mechanic (Mining & Limestone Production)

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform service, repairs, and preventative maintenance on all underground mobile equipment including loaders, haul trucks, and roof bolters
• Complete PM activities such as oil/filter changes, oil sampling, and tire repairs
• Monitor and map all underground water collection areas and maintain pumping equipment
• Install new water pumps or water lines to maintain appropriate water levels in the mine
• Maintain accurate records of repair orders for each piece of equipment
• Assist with maintaining an up-to-date parts inventory system
• Service pumps, generators, and other plant equipment
• Participate in on-call rotation to respond to emergency maintenance needs
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Communicate effectively with all plant employees

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required (2-year degree in related field preferred)
• 2-4 years of experience in a related mechanical environment or position
• Basic reading and math skills
• Effective communication and computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft software
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and independently solve problems
• Capability to work underground, outdoors, and occasionally for full shifts
• Willingness to respond to emergency callouts during various hours
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures 💪
